Pinebrook Woods Redo
Pinebrook Woods is one of Fort Myers hidden gems. Located just off Daniels and 41, you can’t beat this location. But a lot of the homes in this neighborhood are starting to show their age, and that was the case with this villa.
It was dark, outdated, and time for a major overhaul. The popcorn ceiling fad is one will never understand, but we’re happy to get rid of it. Which is exactly what we did here. The living room was extremely large for a unit this size. A new interior room was framed and added in the corner of the living room to create a den. We added a transom light at the top to allow for natural light to filter into the room.
The galley kitchen had two entrances, which was not necessary for a kitchen of that size. We closed off one of the doorways, allowing for more cabinets and counter space on that wall. On the opposite wall, we moved the refrigerator to the opposite end, away from the laundry room door. Now the owners can open the refrigerator/freezer doors all the way without hitting a wall or being in the way. The walls separating the dining room were completely removed to open the kitchen/dining/living area.
Though the laundry room and bathrooms aren’t big on space, we maximized what was there with several floor to ceiling cabinets. All of the cabinets in the laundry room, bathrooms and kitchen were replaced with Starmark Cabinets and Wilsonart Quartz countertops. Custom closets replaced the single wire-shelving in both bedrooms. The floors were replaced with wood-look plank tile, even on the lanai. The aging Cedar siding on the lanai was also replaced with new Hardiboard.
The garage even got a makeover in this villa! The floors were coated with epoxy and the old kitchen cabinets were hung and repurposed for extra garage storage. A roll down screen was added to the front of the garage door, to allow the owners to be in the garage without having to worry about all those pesky Florida mosquitoes.
